How to hide comments on Facebook ads
A hostile comment under an ad is read by every buyer who sees the ad after it. Hiding it takes it out of their view without deleting it. Here is what hiding does on Meta, and how EveryComment makes it a one-key job.

What hiding a comment does
A hidden comment stops showing under the ad to other people. The person who wrote it can still see it, so they are not provoked into writing another. Nothing is deleted, and you can unhide it later.
Hiding is a Meta feature. EveryComment asks the platform to hide the comment through the connected account, so the result is exactly the same as hiding it from Meta’s own tools, with the decision made from the list where you are already answering everything else.

It is in the same list as every DM, review and organic comment, marked "Ad comment", with the ad creative beside it.
Press H
The comment is hidden on the platform and the thread is marked done. If Meta refuses (it sometimes rejects a second hide of a comment already hidden elsewhere), EveryComment shows you the refusal and the comment is not marked hidden.
Change your mind
Open the thread and unhide it. The thread comes back to the Inbox.
When a comment is very negative, the AI writes no reply. It marks the thread and recommends hiding it. The decision stays with the person.
Let EveryComment hide the worst on its own
Auto-hide is off by default. An admin in your workspace switches it on, one brand at a time. When it is on, a comment is hidden with nobody asking only when all of these hold:
- It is a comment on an ad. Comments on ordinary posts are left alone unless you opt in to those too.
- The AI screening answers two questions about it, and both come back yes: it is very negative, and it should be hidden with nobody looking first. The bar for the second is higher than the first, so a comment that is only marked very negative stays in the Inbox.
- It has no question in it. Anything with a question mark is a person’s call.
- It was posted after you switched auto-hide on, and less than a day ago. Switching it on never sweeps through a backlog.
- The thread is still open, nobody has dealt with it yet, and the daily cap has not been reached. The cap is 20 a day unless you change it, between 1 and 200.
Every automatic hide is listed on its own screen with the comment text, so you can put any of them back with one click. When the cap stops a hide, the comment stays in the Inbox, and the brand’s Auto-hide card in Settings shows how many were left there in the last 24 hours.
When to hide, and when to reply
Hide abuse, spam and comments that exist only to put the next reader off. Reply to everything else, including sharp questions and complaints: a visible, calm answer under the ad does more for the next buyer than an empty thread.

Does hiding delete the comment?
No. It stops showing to other people. The writer still sees it, and you can unhide it.
Can it hide comments on Instagram ads too?
Yes. Facebook, Instagram and TikTok comments can be hidden. Google Business reviews cannot.
Will it hide a customer by mistake?
It is built to err towards leaving a comment alone: the screening must say both very negative and hide, a comment with a question mark is never hidden, and there is a daily cap. Every automatic hide is listed and reversible.
Does it work for comments on dark posts?
Yes, once the brand’s Meta ad account ids are entered in Settings, so that comments on ads that never appeared on the Page are picked up.
